Western District Pictures
From Lugard Road you can look down at the densely populated Western District of Hong Kong island. Although not as dense Mong Kok this is still a high density living area. The tower blocks are mostly older in this area dating from the 1970s, and 80s and some are run down. However there is a thriving commercial scene at ground level with busy shops, restaurants, small hotels and other businesses.
The birds eye view from the Circular Walk is a reminder of how far yet how close are the different social strata in Hong Kong. As you walk beside luxury mansions are you are looking down onto houses of a very different sort.
