Mount Austin Road is a wonderful route to the Peak
If you decide to explore the peak by hiking along Mount Austin Road then you will find this very exclusive residential road to be a pleasant hiking route up to the peak, which also gives you the chance to enjoy the Victoria Peak Garden.
Victoria Peak Garden used to be the gardens attached to Mountain Lodge, the alternate residence of the Governor of Hong Kong. Mountain Lodge has been demolished now but the garden still remains for everyone to enjoy.
Mount Austin Road does get narrower as you get closer to the peak and so you need to be aware of any traffic and stay safe. Some of the much sought-after residences that line Mount Austin Road are simply stunning and, arguably, have some of the best views available over Hong Kong.
As you wander up toward the peak you will come across Mount Austin Playground, a popular park with both locals and tourists due to its beautiful manicured lawns and relaxing ambience. Once you reach the peak you’re sure to really enjoy the views over Central, Kowloon and even as far as Stanley on south side if you visit on a clear day. Hiking to Victoria Peak is a great way to explore this very exclusive area of Hong Kong.
