Peak Cafe / Peak Lookout

Peak Cafe is situated at 121 Peak peak.  It is the oldest restaurant on the peak.

In 1901, British engineers were hired to help building the peak tram.  This one storey building was built to be the workplace and accommodation for them.  When the construction of the peak tram was finished, it was modified to be the sedan chairs shelter.  As the peak tram was new, there were still many people commuting with sedan chairs.  This building became very handy.

In 1947, this sedan chair shelter was renovated to be a cafe and that's the famous Peak Cafe serving many many locals and tourists in the past 50 years and more.

In 2001, a new restaurant Peak Lookout picked up the location and continue to serve the ever growing number of tourists.
