Mount Austin Road Is A Popular Hiking Trail to Victoria Peak

Mount Austin Road is one way to get to Victoria Peak and makes for a great hiking trail as it winds it’s way up Mount Austin Road and through the peak gardens to the viewing platform.

The road gets narrower as it gets closer to the peak gardens and there are quite a few blind bends en-route too so if you are going to walk or hike to the peak via Mount Austin Road then you need to be aware of the cars and stay safe. You will come across many other people and groups during your hike with this being an increasingly popular hiking trail and so not being aware of the cars can be dangerous. Always try to walk on the side of the road rather than in the middle.

Once you reach the peak gardens however the walk will be well worth it because the views over Hong Kong are stunning. From the peak you’ll be able to enjoy one of the most impressive skylines in the world with views over Victoria Harbour, Kowloon and Central. On a clear day, you can even see many of the islands in Victoria Harbour and beyond.

The views at night from Victoria Peak are equally impressive. If you decide to get the best of the Peak by going late afternoon and staying until after sunset then it is advisable to get back via the Peak Tram, a bus or a taxi.
